Public Relations

The mission of Public Relations is to ensure that the members of our community know and understand that Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians Registered are the only food and nutrition experts in the nation. Events such as health fairs, lectures, exhibits, etc. are wonderful opportunities that allow us to represent ourselves as the trusted, well-educated, credible dietitians that we are. Providing evidenced-based information in the form of handouts, table displays and referencing to federally recognized websites such as www.eatright.org and www.mypyramid.gov are some of the many tactics we use to reach out to our community and help them make informed, educated decisions about their nutritional health and lifestyle.

We highly encourage that all dietetic professionals take the time to participate in any community events they deem appropriate so that together we can keep working towards our mission and continue to improve the lives of many people on Long Island.
